The ATM is one of the indispensable technologies in the modern world. The working principle of ATMs is actually simple. After loading the card into the ATM card reader, the cardholder is prompted to enter a secret code (PIN code) for authorization. Next, a selection of available operations is offered (a PIN code may also be required when selecting an operation; it depends on the specific settings of a particular ATM). After the transaction is selected, the ATM encrypts the received data and transmits the data to the processing center of the acquiring bank (the bank providing ATM services). The acquiring bank sends a request to the payment system for the implementation of the transaction. The payment system forwards the request to the issuing bank (the bank that issued the card) and after receiving approval or refusal (authorization code) sends commands to the ATM to fulfill or reject the request. This system is similar in all banks, be it capital bank, ATM, international bank, etc. all others.
